Spiritual Disciplines: Experiencing Jesus

The Word “discipline” has a lot of baggage for most people. Being disciplined sounds like you’re getting grounded, right?

But the whole point of practicing spiritual disciplines is to experience freedom. It’s like the discipline of playing scales to become a great musician, or the discipline of running laps to create endurance so you can finish strong in the fourth quarter.

God is at work. Spiritual disciplines are simply a way we open up space for His power in our lives. And God will work. He is always faithful.

Join Pastor Marius Asaftei and embark on a journey to experience Jesus through spiritual disciplines. You’ll explore biblical teaching and participate in group activities to practice these disciplines and grow closer to Jesus and to each other.

Topics include:

An Overview of Spiritual Discipline - learning more of what it’s all about

Worship: proclaiming truth - discover how God wants to be worshipped

Solitude: me, myself and God - there’s beauty in spending time alone to reflect and think

Confession: the ugly truth - enjoy the freedom of a clean conscience between you and God

Fasting: bread of life - it helps build your strength, and it isn’t always about food

Service: the greatest commitment - thinking of others first and making them important

Prayer: let’s talk - God wants to have a conversation that goes both ways

Study: the more truth you know… - it’s not enough to just have love, you have to have a bit of knowledge too
