Sarah K. Asaftei is the founder of ReDefinition Ministries, and the Assistant Director of the Centre for Secular & Postmodern Studies at the General Conference Office of Adventist Mission.

An engaging international speaker, Sarah is passionate about ministry - speaking to teen and adult audiences on sexual purity, romance, evangelism to unchurched postmoderns, young womanhood and Christian identity.

In addition, Sarah also serves as the Marketing Director and Production Coordinator of tedMEDIA productions, a cutting edge Adventist film group based in the UK. She is a pastor’s wife, author, former Bible worker, and has traveled to 29 countries.

An alumnus of Southern Adventist University, Sarah also graduated from Andrews University with a master’s degree in Administration & International Development, specialising in curriculum design and adult learning. She has worked as a colporteur, youth leader, evangelistic speaker, radio announcer and educational administrator.

She has been a featured guest on AWR Italia, Truth Talk LIVE Radio, and other Christian radio and television programmes. Her articles and stories have been published by Women of Spirit Magazine, the Adventist Review, INsight Magazine, Adventist World, Ministry Magazine, HUB and other publications. She was also a contributing author for “Praise, Prayer & Promise,” a 2006 devotional book.

Besides loving young people, Sarah’s domestic interests include reading, music, homemaking, gardening, hospitality and entertaining, and sharing a life of ministry with her husband, Pastor Marius R. Asaftei.

“I believe that God is the creator of romance, intimacy and all things lovely. In a society where everything is instant, few learn the value of waiting for something better instead of grabbing something NOW.

Today’s culture battles against surrender, discipline, and patience. Yet some experiences are sweetest only when they have been deferred. Romance is one of these.

Most young people receive little education about who to love, how to love, and when to love. They to be mentored into godly identity as men and women.

I see young women who have never been discipled into feminine maturity. Beautiful girls without poise or confidence. It takes authentic commitment to become a Proverbs woman – gentle determination and grace.

I see young men who have never been shown how to become true men. Boys without godly masculine mentors. Becoming an Ephesians man is a lifetime commitment. It is no small calling to love as Christ loved – to lead as Christ led, as a servant.

Before our young people are ready to love – they must know who they are. They are truly a unique generation – an generation of youth longing to be shaped into men and women of God.

The passion of youth is a treasure to be cherished. When it comes to romance, the waiting is agony – but the rewards are priceless.
I know – I waited.”

…means taking the world’s definition of love and giving it a new meaning.

It means teaching young people that romance is something beautiful, to be cherished.

It means understanding that God created intimacy to be so powerful that if we wish to experience its fullest ecstasy – we must wait.

It means exercising delayed satisfaction, allowing God to orchestrate your romance and give you a magical love story.

It means surrendering your romantic heart to God for His protection, His timing, and His plan.

It means that young people must learn the biblical definition of becoming men and women before they are ready to love.

It means that God forgives past mistakes and provides strength to find purity again.

It means that fairy tale romance really does exist!

Lecture Topics

Redefining Romance frankly confronts the struggles young people face in the journey toward purity and adulthood.

In Defense of Love
Why does Christianity often paint sex as dirty? Why are so many marriages unhappy? Is God the love scrooge, or the ultimate matchmaker?

A Parable of Two Closets
How do I surrender my romantic heart to God? When am I ready to give my heart away? How do I know who is right for me?

Ephesians Man
What defines real manhood? How do I become a strong, pure Christian man? How can I discover what godly masculinity looks like?

Proverbs Woman
What is being a woman all about? How do I make sense of all the mixed messages in society? Can I really master the art of being a gracious and feminine woman?

Heavenly Love in Earthly Places
Does God really work romantic miracles in our times? Hear a modern romance story that will inspire trust and anticipation.

Generation P
What does God really want of me? How can I become different from the world without losing my identity? How do I achieve true surrender as a contemporary young person?

Have you ever felt confused by the mixed messages you get on how to be a real woman?

ReDefining Young Womanhood is a chance for you to discover your hidden potential.

It is an opportunity to find new definitions for the hot issues that characterize modern women.

Womanhood is a treasure. It’s a gift to be cultivated & cherished. And it doesn’t have to be limited to old-fashioned tradition.

Godly women do not happen by accident. They are women who realize their worth in God’s eyes. They relish their role in society.

Society challenges every biblical principle. In a world that offers a glitzy counterfeit for every divine blessing, we cannot just blindly accept contemporary definitions of what is right and wrong.

Do you embrace your feminine identity? Do you move with confidence?

Will you choose to see what you can become as a woman of God?

Session Topics

Redefining Womanhood addresses the following topics with humor, depth and a Biblical perspective:

Confidence
How should we balance accomplishment and womanhood while striving for Biblical femininity?

Beauty
MYTH: Beauty is naked sexuality and physical perfection.
TRUTH: Beauty is complex, varied and multi-dimensional.

Purity
How do I protect my heart? How do I find purity? How can I recover from past choices or abuse?

Dress & Fashion
What responsibilities does a Christian woman have regarding appearance? Should we be stylish? How do we achieve modern modesty?

Submission
Just how do modern women achieve submission without becoming doormats?

Leadership
How do I discover my talents and sculpt them for God’s glory? How can I know that I’m doing His will? What does the Bible really say about women and leadership?

God, Who do You Want Me to Be?

Every girl and woman wants to be someone - someone loved, someone important, someone useful and valued, someone beautiful.

Sometimes it gets a little messy trying to figure out who we are, who we want to be, and who we ought to be.

One simple way to find answers? Change the question you’re asking. Instead of trying to figure out it all alone - ask God. “Who do You want me to be?”

The stories of these ancient women can help in that journey toward meaning and fulfillment as modern women.

Mary Magdelene: surrendering your most precious treasure to Jesus

Martha: finding your source of identity

Sarai: loyalty and trust even when things don’t make sense

Bathsheba: the concept of purity in action

Ruth: developing authentic compassion and faithfulness

Abigail: taking personal initiative and acting decisively

Queen Esther: developing discretion, poise, and gracefulness

Have you ever longed for meaningful companionship among fellow women?

Mothers In Israel is a challenge for women of all ages to come together in mentoring relationships according to the Biblical mandate in Titus 2.

Are you a mature woman with a story of how God has led your life? Are you a young women searching for direction and meaning?

This seminar is specifically designed for female audiences with a broad age-range. It is ideal for mother-daughter conferences, women’s retreats and other venues where women of different generations fellowship together.

Join for a weekend of prayer, heart-searching, sharing and Scripture!

Session Topics

Beautiful, Confident Leadership
Isn’t every woman hardwired with a longing to be beautiful? Yet how often we allow our quest for external youth and beauty to eclipse our need for inner peace with God!

Mothers in Israel
Every young girl struggles in the art of becoming a woman. Today’s society makes it even harder. Where better to learn about godly womanhood, than from women who are already striving?

Purely Feminine
God created us as women, distinct and beautiful and separate. It is a challenge to learn to celebrate His creation as He intended it to be. How do we succeed in a competitive world, while maintaining our femininity and purity?
